You could call M Studios is a multi-disciplinary design studio and workshop that creates sustainable lifestyle products

......BUT......

I'm just a design and innovation guy with a small solar workshop where I design and make products using a range of 3D Printing, Laser, and Welding technologies without the stress (or money) of the corporate consulting work.

The freedom to design and create from scratch let's me push the boundaries of design, and lean into my passions for sustainability, natural materials and drawing inspiration from New Zealand's natural beauty. I hope the things I create might make life a little easier, more beautiful, or at least a bit more fun!!

Focussing on my passions

I used to live a so-called "successful" life as a corporate design and innovation consultant. Using human centered design skills developed at Stanford University and years of experience to help large corporations design better experiences, products and services. 

But after I burnt out physically and mentally I started questioning why I worked so hard, just to buy lots of things I didn't really need. I was just running on a hamster wheel chasing some idea of success that didn't fulfill me. 

I decided to redesign my life around my own idea of success, even if that means taking an unconventional path. I now take a slower pace to life, live small and spend more time in nature exploring the beauty of Aotearoa and design products inspired by these experiences.

People

What's good for the people is good for business; what meaningful value can you provide to your community

Planet

Business value cannot come at environmental cost, value the scarce resources we all rely on to thrive

Profit

All businesses need to generate a return, we just believe this is the third priority not the sole priority
